Hotel robbery
Crime Stoppers is seeking the public’s help for a robbery incident that occurred at the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan beach in Garapan on Wednesday night, July 12, 2017.
At about 9:53pm, police responded to the Fiesta Resort & Spa Saipan and met with security and the victim, a 33-year-old Korean female. Her bag was snatched by the suspect—described as medium built, possibly a local male, wearing a beige T-shirt and red baseball cap.
The victim was talking with her friend and sitting on a beach chair under a hut at the Fiesta Resort beach area. The suspect approached her, pushed her of her seat, and grabbed her yellow bag containing her Korean passport, a hotel room key, and about $100 cash.
The suspect fled north in the direction of the Hyatt Regency Saipan and the victim and her friend chased the suspect. The victim lost sight of the suspect who was last seen running toward the Hyatt lobby. The victim contacted security, who called the police. No one was injured.
