A hotel employee was arrested for DUI on Thursday after he was allegedly tested with a blood alcohol level of .280 percent, which is over the legal limit of .08 percent when his vehicle collided with another vehicle.

The auto accident occurred at the traffic light of the MSV Building in Chalan Kanoa at the intersection of Beach Road and Tun Segundo.

Franklin S. Fujihira was driving a 2004 gold Mitsubishi Outlander with two passengers. One passenger refused treatment while a second passenger was admitted to the Commonwealth Health Center for severe injuries and currently in the Intensive Care Unit.

The driver of the 2015 white Toyota Prius along with two passengers were transported to CHC where they were treated and released with minor injuries.

Both vehicles were heading south in the inner lane on Beach Road. The Mitsubishi was traveling at a higher speed than the posted 35 miles-per hour speed limit when it struck the Prius from behind.

The police report stated that Fujihira and the two passengers are employees of Saipan World Resort. The co-workers attended their employee Christmas party earlier in the evening. After the party, the co-workers relocated to Susupe Beach Park.
They were believed to have consumed alcoholic beverages at both locations.
The DPS is conducting an investigation on the case.
