“It’s our pleasure to support PAWS in their continuing effort to assist stray dogs and cats, as well as the other services they provide,” said HANMI chair Nick Nishikawa. “It takes a heart of compassion to do this work, and we appreciate their efforts on behalf of our entire island community.”
Nishikawa noted the donation comes from the proceeds of HANMI’s two annual fundraisers, the HANMI Charity Golf Tournament Classic and the Go-Kart Championship.
“The overwhelming support HANMI receives from our sponsors and competitors at our fundraisers makes it possible for us to support charitable organizations such as PAWS, whom we have also supported in the past,” said Nishikawa. “These donations are a tradition of community service that we are pleased to continue.”
As of July this calendar year, hotel occupancy is at an average 83.49 percent, 1 percent lower than last year.
The Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands was established in 1985 as a professional forum for the hospitality industry of the Northern Mariana Islands. (HANMI)
