Hospital services, clinics open today
Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. chief executive officer Esther Muña is reminding her staff that hospital services and clinics will still be open today.
In a memorandum issued to staff Tuesday, Muña said that only administrative offices will be closed.
“In line with the acting governor’s administrative leave for Friday, only administrative offices will be closed,” the memo states.
“All hospital services including ancillary services and outpatient clinics such as the Women’s, Children’s and Family Care Clinics, Public Health Clinics, Community Guidance Center clinics, the Kagman Community Health Center and Tinian and Rota health centers shall remain open for business as usual. Support staff for these services should also report for duty on this day,” the memo adds.
According to Muña, they don’t want to have four days where the only option available for the public are the hospital and emergency room services.
“We don’t want four days of no clinic. That’s basically not good health care,” Muña said in an interview.
She said they need to have at least the clinics be open today.
“Friday we need to remain open for the clinics and the support staff that are part of that clinic [should report for duty],” Muña said.
