The Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation Program’s Hinemlu O’hala Para Enteramenti Recovery Center reopened yesterday, Aug. 21, now that major electrical issues within the facility have been resolved.

According to Esther Milne-Camacho, acting special assistant for Substance Abuse and Rehabilitation, personnel have been transferring back to Marpi from the Kagman Emergency Shelter Facility.

Milne-Camacho notes that participants currently housed in Group Home have returned to the facility and inpatient services have resumed operations.

However, only three buildings have been energized and deemed safe for occupancy, which has limited bed space to accommodate new inpatient services. The three buildings that have returned to normal operations are for male clients, female clients, and the main office.
