A former staff assistant of Delegate Gregorio Kilili C. Sablan (Ind-MP) was found dead inside her house in Oleai yesterday afternoon in what police classified as a homicide case.

Saipan Tribune learned that the victim is Ana Maria Limes, who was found face down inside her living room.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death and the weapon used.

Department of Public Safety Commissioner James C. Deleon Guerrero would only confirm last night that it is a homicide case involving a woman in Oleai shortly after noon yesterday.

Deleon Guerrero said the victim is a Carolinian woman in her 40s.

The commissioner said DPS will only confirm that police responded to what turned out to be a homicide incident.

Deleon Guerrero said Attorney General Edward Manibusan was alerted regarding this “unfortunate community tragedy.”

“DPS Commonwealth Bureau of Investigation detectives are working tirelessly in investigating this case,” said Guerrero, adding that the incident occurred within the San Jose or Oleai area.

He said DPS will not release any other information until today’s news briefing.

As of press time, police hasn’t arrested anyone with regards to Limes’ purported killing.

Meanwhile, on Rota, some family members of Rose Sablan Pangelinan urged police to look into her death last Thursday.

Pangelinan was said to have been found unresponsive by family members at her house in Sinapalo II and was transported to the Rota Health Center, where she was pronounced dead.

There was unconfirmed information that an autopsy was already conducted at the Commonwealth Health Center on Saipan.

Saipan Tribune called Rota DPS but a staff referred comment to the DPS Saipan information officer.

DPS has yet to release information about the case. Deleon Guerrero is expected to release details about the case during today’s press conference.
