Homeboyz, Alamo slowly pulling away in Thursday billiards
The Jokers Homeboyz and the National Alamo Car Rental are slowly creating some distance against the other teams after each escaping with close wins over separate opponents in the Saipan Billiards Association-Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday League last week.

Both the Homeboyz and National scored 7-6 wins over the Wild Bill’s Rack ‘N’ Roll and Jonny’s Team SCS, respectively, for identical 25-14 slates to enjoy a six-game lead over the Jokers WildBoyz’s 19-20 card.
The Rack ‘N’ Roll (17-12), Team SCS (16-23), and the Wild Bill’s Wild Wild West (15-24) complete the standings in the six-team league.
The Homeboyz were holding on to a 6-4 edge heading into the last two matches in the second set of the Partner’s 8-Ball event.
Cesar Sangalang and Joshua Woodson sealed the victory for the Homeboyz after disposing of the Rack ‘N’ Roll’s Rico Montano and Warlee Ellama in the first game of the second to the last Partner’s 8-Ball event.
Wild Bill’s won the last two games for the final tally.
All 13 matches are always played since each win or loss would be added to the record of the team, with the squad wit the most victories clinching the season crown.
It was a different story in National’s victory over Team SCS as Rey Hemogenes and Joseph Achas bested the duo of Bob Webb and Toto Bigcas in the deciding Partner’s 8-Ball.
Team SCS was able to go toe-to-toe against National with team captain Erwin Gomez and Bryan Fabre forcing the rubber after beating Achas and Boyet Sequioco.
The WildBoyz made short work of the Wild Wild West, 9-4, in the other match.
There will be no Thursday League games on Nov. 26, Thanksgiving Day. Matches will resume on Dec. 3 with the anticipated match up between co-leaders National and Homeboyz.
The Rack ‘N’ Roll will also host the WildBoyz, while Team SCS will go up against the Wild Wild West in the other schedule games.
Matches in the Tuesday League tomorrow will have the Jokers Docomo Hustlers colliding with the Jokers StraighBlackBall, while the Jokers Voyagers take on Jonny’s Crazy 8 and the Jonny’s Titans battle the Jokers Destroyers in their respective bars on Garapan.
