A home in Koblerville that was burglarized last week was able to obtain a surveillance video recording of the alleged burglar and has given the footage to police for identification of the suspect.

The Department of Public Safety has released a frame grab from the surveillance video in hopes of getting tips from the public in identifying the suspect in the burglary, which was reportedly the second time that the home had been robbed.

In a statement yesterday, DPS said it learned of the burglary through a 911 call on Oct. 30, 2019. Police officers arrived at the scene at about 7:27pm and noticed items and clothing scattered throughout the rooms inside the house. A bathroom window screen was also damaged and it is believed to be the entry point of the burglar.

It was learned that the owners of the home had left in the morning and returned home in the evening to find their home in disarray and with several items missing, including one black Hewlett-Packard laptop, two pairs of black Rayban sunglasses, one pair of Coach sunglasses, one Gucci purse, one Gucci wallet, and one Celine Boston bag.

Someone saying she is a daughter of the homeowner later posted on Facebook: “I am very upset. …This is the second time they burglarized my parents’ home.” The post has been shared by over 600 individuals and continues to grow as the community works to find and apprehend the suspect.

The owners gave police officers surveillance footage and were able to identify a male individual with a dark shirt covering his face, walking through the home. Other noticeable features of the suspect include a “distinct tattoo” on his upper right arm.

The case is ongoing and DPS urges the community to provide any information about the suspect/incident. Residents are urged to call 911 or call the CNMI Crime Stoppers at (670) 234-7272 if they want to remain anonymous.
