Jonny’s Bar & Grill’s Docomo Pacific Home Boyz and Team SCS are the current front-runners of their respective Agingan and Obyan divisions as the Saipan Billiards Association 2012 Budweiser Open 8-Ball League’s continued last Tuesday in various venues of Saipan.
The Home Boyz sunk Obyan’s Water Front (21-81), 15-2, in an inter-league road match to improve its overall win-loss record to 85-17 and atop the five-team Agingan field.
Meanwhile, defending division champion IT&E Voyagers (79-23) sit six games back in second place after besting sister team IT&E Incredibles (60-42), 11-6, on the road.
New Saipan Aluminum’s Hustlers (61-41), meanwhile, are clinging to third place, a game ahead of IT&E Incredibles after downing Joe’s Steakhouse’s Fotten Palau (52-50), 12-5, in an inter-league home draw.
Joe’s Ocean Warriors (51-51) are still bringing up the rear after absorbing a 10-7 upset at home to Obyan’s second-ranked Shark Attack (50-52).
Over in the Obyan division, Team SCS (57-45) remains atop the nine-team field despite falling to Poseidon’s seventh-ranked Yang-Ku (38-64), 10-7, in a stunner on the road, while in other results 19th Hole Bar’s Titans (48-54) defeated Bammy’s Restaurant & Bar’s shorthanded Boom Boom (31-71), 13-4, at home; and Jonny’s Crazy 8 (40-62) upset 19th Hole’s Poksu (41-61), 10-7, at home.
Though trailing by at least a handful, Obyan’s second place team Fotten Palau, third-ranked Shark Attack, and the fourth place Titans are all still within striking distance.
