Christian “Hollywood” Camacho continued to rock aboard his 2019 Yamaha YFZ450R en route to winning the Big Boy ATV Class of the 2022 Monster Energy Point Series Race last Sunday at the Cowtown Race Track.
The 38-year-old from Dandan was a picture of perfection during the April race of Marianas Racing Association after dominating both heats for 50 points. Rex Susulin came in second with 44 points after two runner-up finishes, while Henry Camacho Sr. totaled 40 points for third place.
“I wasn’t really focusing on my race. I was more focused on my daughter’s race as it was exciting and competitive. The impact we make on kids especially my daughter is important to me. When they ask questions or ask to teach them, that is what keeps me racing and for the fans to see an ATV flying in the air,” he said.
Camacho’s daughter is Kassidy Camacho and she competed in the Mini ATV Class, finishing third place.
Asked if he’s already getting bored after winning his division for the fourth straight time, the elder Camacho answer was: “Well I wouldn’t call it bored as I made it a goal to have a perfect season… I like to thank God first and foremost for the many blessings he’s given us and keeping us safe. I like to thank my wife and kids, my parents and siblings, the fans, the MRA board, and the people who continue to make this possible.”
In the Peewee ATV Class, Keoni Rosario took the checkered flag after winning both heats as well for 50 points, while Rockson Cabrera and Angel Ray Camacho came in second and third with 44 points and 38 points, respectively.
Franchesca Yumul headline the winners in the Mini ATV Class with 47 points, followed by Anella Igitol in second with 40 points. Kassidy Camacho tied Igitol with 40 points but lost to Igitol in the second heat to settle for third.
In the Novice Class, Joseph Santos was again without peer and finished with 50 points after winning both races. Ethan Yumul was runner-up twice to come in second with 44 points. With 38 points and third place was Keonia Macaranas.
Corry Pangelinan may have to be elevated to Expert Class next season after topping the Intermediate Class following a sweep of both heats for 50 points. Tristan Sablan came in second with 42 points, while third place went to Henry Camacho Jr. after Sablan edged him in the second race. Camacho also wound up with 42 points.
