Former Rota Municipal Council chair George O. Hocog and Rota Mayor’s Office press secretary Ivan Takamine Mereb Jr. have been confirmed as board members of the Rota Municipal Scholarship Foundation.

The Rota Legislative Delegation unanimously confirmed their appointments in a public hearing last Jan. 22, Wed, at the Rota Mayor’s Office in Songsong.

The two were among the three appointees named by Rota Mayor Efraim M. Atalig in October last year.

The third appointee, retired Rota resident Fidelia M. Mendiola, withdrew.

“These new appointees will be replacing board members exiting because of resignation, term limit, and medical reason,” Atalig stated.
