A high surf advisory remains in effect until 6pm Saturday, while a small craft advisory remains in effect until 10am today.

Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operations Center State Warning Point, expect hazardous surf along north and west facing reefs falling to 8 to 10 feet today on both Tinian and Saipan.

Also, coastal waters on both Saipan and Tinian are expected to subside to between 7 and 9 feet by this afternoon.

On Rota, combined seas of 8 to 10 feet will subside to between 7 and 9 feet by Friday afternoon.

Those operating smaller vessels should avoid sailing in these conditions.

The public is advised not to venture out along north, west, or south facing reefs and beaches. Breaking waves can knock you down and cause serious injuries. Strong rip currents will be life threatening.
