Fresh to strong northeast winds, along with large north-northwest swell associated with a shear line, will create hazardous conditions for small craft operation across the local waters through Wednesday morning, according to the CNMI Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

A high surf advisory is now in effect until 4pm Wednesday.

Along north and northwest facing reefs, a small craft advisory is now in effect through Wednesday.

Combined seas of 9 to 11 feet will produce hazardous conditions for operators of small craft through Wednesday. Winds and seas should gradually subside starting Wednesday evening.

Those operating smaller vessels should avoid boating in these conditions. If travel by boat is necessary, exercise caution especially near reef lines and when entering or leaving harbors and inlets. (HSEM)
