Hey, casino guys

So in one day we go from a $2 billion investment to a $200 million investment. Wow! What a difference a day makes. Get smart, commissioners! You want a casino, offer one to any existing hotel with over 300 rooms that is already operating and paying taxes. We don’t need $400,000 consultants to tell us the Sunshine deal is just a scam. They will take one year to build the casino, three more years to finish the 401 rooms and then sit for a couple years seeing if their investment is paying or not. If the casino is making a profit, they will use it to build another 100 or 200 rooms at a time. These people are a lot smarter than you are and do this for a living.

Hey-casino-pixAnyone with $2 billion can do it all at once. Look at the Sands in Singapore. Boom, $5.5 billion all at once, and it included worldwide promotion and guaranteeing a big enough customer base to attract all the major retailers in the world. This nickel dime stuff only impresses small islands like us. Has any of you been to any small island anywhere that has a $2 billion hotel/casino? This picture is the Atlantis Hotel in the Bahamas, built in 1998 for $800 million, which would probably be $1.5 billion today. Okay, Sunshine, let’s see a picture of your $2 billion project.
