Locally heavy rainfall is possible through Thursday, based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam.

According to a CNMI Emergency Operations Center-State Warning Point, a series of trade-wind troughs, combined with divergent winds aloft, is expected to produce showers and thunderstorms across the Marianas over the next few days. Occasional heavy showers are expected to continue at times through Thursday. Latest model guidance indicates rainfall amounts ranging from 2 to 4 inches during the week, with the heaviest rainfall likely today through Wednesday.

This developing situation will continue to be monitored closely over the next few days. If conditions warrant, this outlook will be updated daily until the threat is no longer present, or watches, advisories or warnings are issued.

The public is advised that localized flooding will be possible in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Check storm drains in your area to make sure they are not clogged. If planning anything outdoors next week, have a backup plan in place. (PR)
