Head Starts preps for self-assessment

Share

The CNMI Head Start program has completed this month the revision of their self-assessment monitoring tool.

According to program director Melissa Palacios, they needed to do that to be sure that the program is including in those tools any updated regulations or new requirements.

With this completed, the program is ready to begin their actual self-assessment.

According to Palacios, they have requested CNMI State of Board of Education members to be a part of the assessment. Board member Tanya King has been confirmed to attend, according to Palacios.

Confirmation of attendance from other partnering agencies is still pending, she said.

On top of the self-assessment, the program is also working on a community assessment.

The program has requested data from community partners and agencies to update their annual community reports, and some data is still pending, according to Palacios.

An update to these assessments is expected in next month’s board meeting.
