Based on the information received from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam, and compiled at the CNMI Emergency Operation Center’s State Warning Point, seas of 7 to 8 feet will build to between 8 and 10 feet last night. Seas are expected to decrease slightly this evening but will remain near or just below 10 feet into the weekend.

A small craft advisory is now in effect from noon until 6pm Thursday. Winds of 15 to 20 knots will increase to between 20 and 25 knots with gusts to 30 knots around midday. Winds will decrease slightly this evening but will hover around hazardous levels into the weekend.

The EOC is advising the public and inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, to avoid sailing in these conditions. (EOC)
