HANMI golf early bird signup deadline today

Golfers are reminded to avail of the $110 early bird fee for this Saturday’s 14th Annual HANMI Charity Golf Classic Tournament by registering by 3pm today. Registration after the early bird deadline will be $130.

“For the last two years we have maxed out registration, so we encourage everyone to register early to save a little money and ensure their slots for Saturday,” said tournament chairman Das Krishnan. “Also, as we are implementing the Blackjack Double Peoria category this year and players are welcomed to register in groups of four with other players they’d like to be paired with during the tournament. Although it is not guaranteed, we will accommodate requested pairing as much as possible.”

Registered players can also avail of a special $30 rate to play at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort this week leading up to the tournament.

Applications are available at LaoLao, Mariana Country Club, Pacific Islands Club Saipan, Fiesta Resort & Spa, Hyatt Regency Saipan, and www.saipanhotels.org. For an additional $30, players may also compete for nearest to the pin, most accurate drive, and most accurate drive circle hole. The tournament will start at 7am.

The prize list for the tournament now totals to over $100,000 in cash, cars, airline tickets, hotel stays, and other prizes. Hole-in-one prizes include: $20,000 cash from Century Tours, a Nissan 370Z Sport from Club C, a 2015 Mazda3i from Triple J Five Star Wholesale Foods and Hertz Rent A Car, two roundtrip airline tickets to the United States or Canada from Delta Air Lines, one roundtrip airline ticket to Asia or Europe from Asiana Airlines, one first class airline ticket to China from Saipan Travel Inc., $5,000 cash from Century Insurance Co., $3,000 cash from Traders Insurance, $500 cash from the Korean Tour Association of Saipan, $500 cash from Best Sunshine International, and 4.5L Chivas Regal from Titan.

The tournament features two categories: Championship and Blackjack Double Peoria. First place winners of the Championship Flight will receive $500, a trophy, and a hotel stay at one of the HANMI member hotels. Second place finisher will receive $300 and one-night stay gift certificate from one HANMI’s member hotels, and third place winner will receive $200 and one-night stay gift certificate from one HANMI’s member hotels.

In the Blackjack Double Peoria category, the first and fifth placers will each receive $500, sixth to 10th finishers will each get $300, and 11th to 15th placers will each take $200. The first to fifth finishers will also each receive a hotel room night stay.

Five consolations prizes of $100 each and five consolation prizes of lunch gift certificates will also be awarded.
