Delta has donated two round-trip tickets to Japan for next month’s event. Delta sales account executive Chris Concepcion led the donation turnover ceremony yesterday at the airline company’s counter at the departure area of the Francisco C. Ada-Saipan International Airport. HANMI chair and Mariana Resort & Spa general manager Gloria Cavanagh, Kanoa Resort general manager Wendi Herring, Pacific Islands Club regional sales manager Shintaro Fujita, Hyatt Regency Saipan sales and marketing head Max Goto, Century Hotel operations supervisor Carlos Rivera, Mariana Resort restaurant assistant manager Albert Pajarillaga, and go-kart race chair Thompson Palik of Mariana Resort were present to witness the ceremony.

“Delta is donating main cabin tickets to Tokyo to support HANMI’s go-kart tournament this April. We are the only airline that flies to and from Tokyo and we’re here to support HANMI in its effort to boost the tourism industry on the island,” Concepcion said.

Cavanagh thanked Delta for its generous donation, adding that HANMI can always rely on the airline company when it comes to the group’s fundraising activities.

Next month’s go-kart tournament, according to Thompson, so far has lured 25 teams and they are expecting to get a few more as interested squads have until this Friday to register. Each team is composed of three members and one coach.
