Habitual offender pleads guilty to car theft and ‘ice’ trafficking

An ex-convict facing charges of conspiracy to steal a car and sell off its parts and trafficking of methamphetamine or “ice” has pleaded guilty.
Calistro Crisostimo, 28, pleaded guilty on Friday to theft of vehicle, attempted bribery, and illegal possession of a controlled substance. He will be sentenced on March 29, 2012.
The Office of the Attorney General had charged Crisostimo with theft of vehicle, tampering with a vehicle, conspiracy to commit theft, illegal possession of a controlled substance, attempted bribery, theft, and three counts of criminal contempt. In the “ice” case, he was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance and conspiracy to commit trafficking of controlled substance.
Crisostimo pleaded guilty as part of a deal. In exchange, the government will recommend a three-year sentence with no parole.
Attorney Richard Pierce appeared for Crisostimo in the “ice” case, while attorney Rosemond Santos represented him in the theft of vehicle case. Chief prosecutor Peter Prestley appeared for the government. Superior Court associate judge Perry B. Inos presided over the case.
