H.I.S. opens charter flights from Russia to NMI
Established Japanese tour operator H.I.S. will commence charter flights to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands from the Far East Russia beginning February 2015.
Direct charter flights to the CNMI will be conducted from Vladivostok and Khabarovsk on a B737-700 aircraft operated by Yakutia Airlines. Total airlift is 132 seats, including eight business class seats.
Flights to the CNMI from Khabarovsk and Vladivostok will be operated every 10 days. The first flight from Khabarovsk will depart on Feb. 25, 2015, while first flight from Vladivostok will be conducted on Feb. 26, 2015.
Tour and air tickets sales will begin on Monday (Nov. 17, 2014). On Nov. 17-18, 2014, H.I.S. and representatives of Yakutia Airlines and Marianas Visitors Authority will hold press conferences for media and travel agents in Khabarovsk and Vladivostok to announce the charter program.
“We are very glad starting charter flights to the Northern Mariana Islands. We would like to share the best spotlight of Saipan as a beautiful and attractive beach destination to Russian travelers,” said Satoshi Omuro, general director H.I.S. Russia. “With support from our local H.I.S. travel agency branches, the charter flights truly demonstrate our continued strong commitment to the Saipan market.”
“The Marianas Visitors Authority is very excited about the launch of direct charter flights from Russia by H.I.S. in February 2015,” said MVA managing director Perry Tenorio. “We are very grateful to H.I.S. for their longstanding commitment as our tourism partner here in the Northern Mariana Islands, and this new venture provides an opportunity for us to further that partnership. We look forward to welcoming more Russian visitors to our relaxed, tropical paradise in the islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.”
The Northern Mariana Islands has become a very popular and favorite travel destination for the Far East Russia tourists, who comprise the lion’s share of total arrivals to the CNMI from Russia. The new charter flight program brings back the opportunity of choice between charter flights and regular routes to the CNMI for Russian tourists and will help restore and increase arrivals from Russia to the CNMI.
