Guam’s Monk triumphs in mainland bodybuilding tilt

LAS VEGAS, Nevada—Gregory LG Monk was named Classic Physique Class C Champion at the 2017 NPC USA Bodybuilding Championships and International Federation Bodybuilding (IFBB) Pro Qualifier held last July in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event was held last July 29 at the University of Las Vegas. Also in July, Monk was named Classic Physique Overall Champion at Jon Lindsay’s 2017 Patriots Challenge.
Monk embarked on his fitness journey competing locally and winning middleweight division at 2010 Michelob Ultra Guam Bodybuilding, second place at the 2011 middle weight division, second place middleweight division at the 2012 Michelob Ultra Guam Bodybuilding, light heavy division champion at the 2013 Michelob Ultra Guam Bodybuilding, competed at the 2014 NPC Emerald Cup in Seattle, light heavy division champion at the 2016 Michelob Ultra Guam Bodybuilding, second place at the 2016 Emerald Cup in Seattle, and competed at the 2016 NPC Miami National Bodybuilding Championships.
Monk, 28, of Maite, Guam, is a personal trainer at Paradise Fitness and is the co-founder of COR-6 and COR-4 fitness programs.
