Guam’s COVID death toll now at 204
Guam’s COVID-19-related death toll has now passed 200, with six new deaths reported between Sept. 29 and Oct. 3.
The Joint Information Center in Guam reported Monday the island’s 199th, 200th, 201st, 202nd, 203rd, and 204th COVID-19-related deaths.
The 199th COVID-19-related death was an unvaccinated 52-year-old female with underlying health conditions. She tested positive for COVID-19 on Sept. 29, and was pronounced dead at the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam on Sept. 29.
The 200th was an unvaccinated 27-year-old male with underlying health conditions. He tested positive on Sept. 30, and was pronounced dead at the Guam Memorial Hospital on Sept. 30.
The 201st was a vaccinated 62-year-old female with underlying health conditions who was a known positive case. She was pronounced dead at GMH on Sept. 30.
The 202nd was an unvaccinated 69-year-old male with underlying health conditions who was a known positive case. He was pronounced dead at the Guam Regional Medical City on Oct. 1.
The 203rd was an unvaccinated 52-year-old male with underlying health conditions who was a known positive case. He was pronounced dead at GRMC on Oct. 2.
The 204th was an unvaccinated 83-year-old male with underlying health conditions who was a known positive case. He was pronounced dead at GRMC on Oct. 3.
Guam Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero said that she, first gentleman Jeff Cook, and Guam Lt. Gov. Joshua Tenorio are praying for healing for those in this “most difficult time.”
“The virus continues to bring upon our community loss and sadness. …While this battle with COVID-19 has felt never-ending, we will continue our aggressive efforts to combat this virus with all the tools and resources available to us,” said Leon Guerrero.
