HAGÅTÑA, Guam—President Benigno Aquino made a brief stop in Guam early Friday morning upon his return to the Philippines after attending an Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in California.
He was welcomed by Speaker Judith T. Won Pat, Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr., Senator Mary Camacho Torres, and Senator James Espaldon—together with Gov. Eddie Calvo and Lt. Gov. Ray Tenorio, Chief Justice Robert J. Torres, and Phicippine Consulate General Marciano De Borja.
“It was an honor to have the opportunity to welcome President Aquino,” stated Won Pat. “He is very humble, and in the short time that I was able to speak with him, he conveyed a deep sense of dedication to serving his people. I certainly hope to work with the government of the Philippines in building our island’s ties. I am grateful to Philippine Consulate Consul General Mark De Borja and his office for the invitation.”
