An airman from the Guam Air National Guard’s 254th Comptroller Flight departed over the weekend en route to a deployment in support of Operation Inherent Resolve in Southwest Asia.

Staff Sgt. Angelo Guevarra, a member of the 254th Comptroller Flight, will support U.S. Air Force Centcom with a mission to provide war fighting support capabilities and enhance the tools required to perform the job by developing an expeditionary mindset, improving contingency/war fighting capabilities, and improving comptroller war planning.

The Guard continues to ask the public for their support as this deployment will have a significant impact on the Guam Air Guard component.

“We thank the people of Guam, especially the employers, for their continued support of our airmen and their families,” said Maj. Gen. Roderick R. Leon Guerrero, the adjutant general for the Guam National Guard.  “We also have airmen from the 254th Security Forces Squadron who are currently deployed or supporting missions around the world. Please keep Sgt. Guevarra and our airmen in your thoughts and prayers now and for the duration of their deployment.”

The airmen are scheduled to be deployed for approximately six months. (PR)
