HAGÅTÑA, GUAM—Guam for Bernie Sanders has congratulated Senator Bernie Sanders and Secretary Hillary Clinton on their successful campaigns in primary states and American Samoa that voted on March 1.

“We are very proud that Senator Bernie Sanders has won a number of crucial primary states,” said Guam for Bernie Sanders organizer Julian Janssen. “His resounding victories in his home state of Vermont, Oklahoma, Minnesota, and the important swing state of Colorado underscores Bernie’s strong support among young adults, progressives, and independents, and his viability as a candidate for President.”

In the general election, the winning candidate for president has won Colorado 80 percent of the time since 1976.

In each of the national polls since the beginning of February that place Sanders and Clinton against Donald Trump, Sanders has outperformed Clinton, by on average, 5 percentage points.

“Many supporters of Bernie Sanders believe that he is more likely to fight for the interests of working families, including providing Medicare to all Americans, free tuition at public colleges, working for a fairer distribution of taxation, and getting money out of national politics,” said Janssen.

Clinton had a narrow success in Massachusetts. In addition, Clinton claimed a number of wins in several southern states, which are perennial strongholds for the Republican Party, and American Samoa.
“Secretary Clinton has strong support among Democrats in southern states, many of which would likely not vote for the eventual Democratic nominee,” Janssen said.
