Gualo Rai goes to 2-0 in boys 18

Gualo Rai got a big game from Craig Padayao as they remain undefeated after a 59-41 win over Chalan Kiya in the boys 18 division of the 2022 Marianas Village Pride Basketball League last Saturday at the Gillette Multi-Purpose Gymnasium in Gualo Rai.
The high-flying Padayao scored 25 points to power Gualo Rai to the pulsating win and improve to 2-0, while Chalan Kiya dropped to an even 1-1 card. The latter was led by the 15 points of Lushawnn Reyes.
In the boys 13, Kagman zoomed to its third straight win in as many games after overcoming Oleai, 34-25. Dany Defang led the victors with 10 markers, while the 1-2 Oleai was paced by the 8 points of Raffy Cai.
Also upping its record to 3-0 was Dandan after they beat San Vicente, 57-32, in the women’s division. Cassandra Camacho scored 10 points in the win, while Angellyn Roligat had 12 in the loss, which was San Vicente’s first in three outings.
On Sunday, Finasisu evened its win-loss record to 1-1 after beating Garapan, 67-21, in the boys 13 match. Jairus Pangelinan exploded for 25 points for Finasisu, while the 7 points of Lance Laxamana led Garapan.
In the women’s division, Madeleine Alegre and Marlene Lumabi combined for 24 points to help Garapan to a 67-24 thrashing of San Jose. Garapan improved to 2-1, while San Jose, which was led by the 11 points of Friendly Pena, remained winless at 0-3.
San Antonio barged into the win column in the boys 18 following its 48-41 win over Navy Hill.
The now 1-1 team had three players contributing 10 points each—Leonardo Regalado, Lance Lerio, and Christian Lucero. Navy Hill, which is now at 0-2, had Charlz Sanchez as the highpoint man with 8 points.
