DEDEDO, Guam—The Guam Regional Medical City, IP&E, and IT&E will be hosting the 3rd Annual Bubble Fun Run on Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 5am to 8am, with start and finish at the Ypao Beach Park.

The 5K runners will head northbound on San Vitores Road, make a left at Fujita Road, turn around, and head southbound back toward Ypao Beach Park.

GRMC introduced HeartBeat, its outreach and community support program, last year. Proceeds from the upcoming Bubble Fun Run will help HeartBeat’s community support of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event.

The HeartBeat program allows for collaborative partnership with local businesses, associations and nonprofit organizations, with the shared vision of making a positive impact for residents.  Through this collective effort, GRMC along with IP&E, IT&E, and the Ben Lorenzo Foundation team up to raise funds for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Last year, Bubble Fun Run garnered over 1500 attendees and supporters. This year, an estimated 2,000 runners are expected to pass through the bubbles, generated by a large foam machine at the finish line and smaller bubble machines situated at the water stations. The foam is organic, gluten, and toxic free.

Powerade is the official sports drink, Quench is the official water, and Subway is the official restaurant partner of the Bubble Fun Run for the next three years.

Registration forms/bibs will be on sale at the customer relations desk at GRMC, IT&E’s main location in Harmon and on Andersen Air Fore Base, and at select Foody’s locations (MicroMall Intersection, Hagåtña, and Mangilao). Forms can be downloaded in advance by visiting the GRMC website at www.grmc.gu.

GRMC is a 136-bed acute care hospital in Dededo. The hospital offers world-class medical care to the residents of Guam, as well as the CNMI, Palau, the FSM, and the Marshall Islands. (PR)
