Greek Mythology
I love everything about Greek Mythology! First, let me share with you about the three major gods. The three major gods of Olympus are Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. They overthrew their father, Kronos, an evil titan. They decided Zeus would be the King of Gods which led to the splitting of their kingdom. Zeus is the god of the sky and lightning. His kingdom is at Olympus. Hades is the god of the dead and rules the underworld. Poseidon is the god of water and Earth. He is also known as the Earth shaker, the stormbringer, and the father of horses. He rules the ocean.
The other aspect of Greek Mythology that I would like to share with you are the beliefs and traditions. One of the traditions is that they create stories to teach people life lessons and meaningful things. Another example of Greek tradition is if you pray to a god, you will be rewarded. For example, if you are a fisherman and you pray to the sea God, Poseidon, you might get a favorable catch. Another thing about Greeks beliefs how someone might catch an evil eye. You can catch an evil eye by being jealous and envious of someone. To avoid it, you must wear a blue little marble bracelet or necklace. Blue is like the color of protection. Lastly, the eldest child has to be named by a grandparent, so it ensures the continuation of family name. These are some of the reasons why I am interested in Greek mythology.
