The Republican Party of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands board of directors met with precinct leaders last Wednesday, Feb. 9.

Present at the meeting was Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, first lady Diann Torres; CNMI GOP president Candace Celis, first vice president Pat Rasa, second vice president Shayne Villanueva, secretary Vivian Nogis, treasurer Ray Basa; Precinct 1 chair Jack Torres, Precinct 2 chair Martin Ada, Precinct 3 chair Jack Ogumoro, Precinct 4 chair Joe Quitugua, and Precinct 5 chair Gil Ada, senior adviser Vince DLG Torres, and campaign manager Wil Castro. Senior adviser Rufin Inos had a schedule conflict and was unable to attend.

“On behalf of first lady Diann and myself, we are truly blessed to work alongside so many new faces as well as avail ourselves of good counsel from proven winners over time. This is truly a dynamic group of precinct leaders,” said Torres.

“The Republican Party is the party of inclusion. We have women, men, i manhoben, retirees, a strong women’s group and leaders on Tinian, Rota, Guam and throughout the U.S. mainland [who] stand ready to rally behind a winning slate of qualified candidates,” said Celis.

“Our ground game is rock solid. Our precinct and village leadership are intact. Our maps and support lists are ready, and we are coming,” said Committee to Elect chair James Ada. “Governor Torres and lieutenant governor candidate [Vinnie Vinson] Sablan welcome an invitation to meet with community-based organizations, ethnic clubs, sport clubs, religious assemblies, clans and other organizations. They understand the importance of incorporating your ideas on how to improve the CNMI.”

Ada thanks vice chair Ton Kapileo for his leadership while Ada was attending the Republican National Committee’s Winter meeting this month.
