Godfather’s Beach Bar to host 4th of July fundraiser
Godfather’s Beach House Bar will be hosting a 4th of July party and fundraiser for the Department of Public Safety at the Fiesta Resort and Spa’s beachside.
According to co-owner Ron Biggers, the party will start at 2pm and is open to the public. Biggers co-owns the bar with Scott Dottino.
Biggers said there will be a raffle drawing, food and drink specials, beach games, and other activities.
Biggers told Saipan Tribune that proceeds will be presented to DPS Commissioner James Deleon Guerrero.
“It will help them out for the public safety museum and renovate the memorial in front,” Biggers said.
Deleon Guerrero confirmed this with Saipan Tribune, saying the donation will go to the DPS Foundation.
“The money is going to be used for the law enforcement memorial and the renovation of the public safety museum,” Deleon Guerrero said.
The DPS chief expressed his gratitude on behalf of the department. “We are very pleased and very grateful that they are doing this for us and this is part of our public and private sector initiative. They volunteered to do this fundraiser to remember those officers that have fallen in the line of duty,” Deleon Guerrero said.
Deleon Guerrero said he wants to thank the owners of Godfather’s for doing this for DPS.
“We want to make sure that they are acknowledged for doing this and the reason they are doing this as well is to show appreciation for DPS,” he said.
According to Biggers, in association with Godfather’s Beach Bar, Steven Brownstein will be sponsoring the “largest display of fireworks ever on the island of Saipan.”
The fireworks will be held at 9pm and Biggers said all families and community members are invited to watch some 30 minutes of fireworks display.
Sponsors of the event include Triple J Five Star Wholesale Foods, Joeten Motor Co., Kanoa Resort Saipan, D&Q International Distributors, Stolichnaya Russian Vodka, Brabu Pharmacy, Nuat Thai Massage, Pacific Trading Co. Miller Lite, IT&E, and YCO.
