Biggers said the funds were raised during a Corn Hole Tournament fundraiser the Godfather’s Bar hosted last Saturday at its beach location.

The event was sponsored by USNS Vadm K.R. Wheeler, Fiesta Resort and Spa Saipan, Joeten Enterprises Inc., Cosmos Distributing, Let’s Go!, Kanoa Resort, IT&E, 670 Rock Steady Shop, Duvel, Shell Gas Station Puerto Rico, Megavision El Drako Tattoo, Brabu Pharmacy, Beluga Noble Russian Vodka, D&Q International Distributors, Tan Siu Lin Foundations, and Seatouch.

“Every year we pick out different charities and organizations that we can help out in the community and we’ve got friends here in CCA so we decided to choose them to benefit from the fundraiser. We felt really good about it and it was real successful and we’d like to do something like this annually,” Biggers said.

Dottino said they have friends and family members affected by cancer and that prompted them to contribute to CCA.

“Especially here on Saipan, cancer affects the local community and I think that there is not someone among us who doesn’t have someone in the family or know someone who has cancer. Hopefully what we’ve raised helps them a lot,” Biggers said.

CCA board medical adviser Dr. Dan Lamar said that every donation is appreciated and that Saipan has such a broad support from the community.

“I think that CCA has been a very good custodians to the community…so it is a great partnership and they support the individuals in the community having to deal with cancer,” Lamar said.
