GMS presents Into the Woods Part 2 this Sunday
Green Meadow School’s Theatre Arts Club will stage Into the Woods Part 2 this Sunday at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe. Show time is at 5pm.
Into the Woods is a modern twist on the beloved Grimm fairy tales in a musical format. It follows the classic tales of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Rapunzel—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife, their wish to begin a family, and their interaction with the witch who has put a curse on them.
GMS student will be performing the second part of the tale. Twenty students from third to sixth grade classes have signed up for this year’s musical. Rehearsals were done for one and a half hours every day since October last year.
“These students had been working hard to give their audience a worthwhile performance,” said Into the Woods Part 2 producer and GMS principal Milagros Songcuan.
Tickets are available for $10 for adults, $5 for ages 5-10, and free for children who are 4 years old and younger. Proceeds from this event will be used to build middle school classrooms in preparation for the next school year. The weekend event will also feature dance and song numbers by GMS Kindergarten and elementary students, parents, and other guest performers.
