Most of Green Meadow School’s representatives at the islandwide pre-regional meet of the National Junior Speech and Debate Association bagged top places in various speech events.

GMS students from 6th-8th grade took four first-place finishes in the competition, which was held in January.

To adhere to COVID-19 protocols, this school year’s NJSDA competition was altered in the way the students presented their pieces. Interpretation events were pre-recorded, while other events such as Impromptu and Extemporaneous Speaking remained as live events. All events were judged remotely, with the judges evaluating the performances via the Zoom application.

School principal Milagros Songcuan praised the students as well as their parents for their untiring support of the school and its students.
