Give me my medical marijuana

The verdict is in: The sick and suffering want medical marijuana so they will be able to find comfort in treating themselves of pain and serious medical conditions. They have overwhelmingly made this clear in the Senate medical marijuana bill public hearings that were held on Rota and last Friday at the Saipan Multi-Purpose Center. Even recreational marijuana advocates stamped their support for the MMJ bill as well as family members of the sick. The patients stated that they continue to treat themselves illegally with medical marijuana as they are more worried about their health and wellbeing as opposed to the legal consequences. They have put their health above law and are not afraid to do so. So the big question for our elected leaders and the CNMI people is: Do the sick and suffering people of the CNMI have to face prosecution, penalties, or discrimination just to treat themselves to save their own lives?

As a compassionate society, we are obligated to taking care of those who are sick and suffering, especially when we have an opportunity to do so. With medical marijuana, we can do just that. Let us give them their right to life. To live, laugh, and love. Let us give them their second chance to live again.

Please come and support the Senate medical marijuana public hearing tonight at the Senate chambers at 6pm so we can do what we as a compassionate society are obligated to do for our loved ones, family members and friends. Thank you and biba Marianas!
