GHLI renews health policy with AETNA
The Government Group Health and Life Insurance Trust Fund renewed its group health policy with AETNA International. The 2016 Policy is effective Jan. 1, 2016 through Dec. 31, 2016.
The premium rates under the 2016 Policy have changed and are set forth below. Open enrollment begins Feb. 1, 2016, and closes Feb. 29, 2016. If you wish to make changes in your coverage, you must do so during this period. The premium rates and any changes in the enrollment will take effect Jan. 1, 2016.
We are pleased to present a third plan option called the “Basic Plan.” This plan is similar to the Low Plan but has a higher deductible. The contributions from employees and retirees for 2016 for this plan are very affordable.

Please be informed that Open Enrollment for health insurance will give all retirees and active government employees the opportunity to do the following:
• If you are an active employee and not currently covered by AETNA, you may apply for coverage for you and your dependents. Retirees are not able to enroll if they previously declined enrollment when first eligible or emailed as of the settlement date. New retirees are able to enroll within the specified time from their retirement date.
• If you are currently covered by AETNA and do not wish to make any changes you DO NOT need to re-enroll, coverage will remain the same.
• If you are currently covered by AETNA, but wish to make changes, you will need to fill out an enrollment/change form.
• If you are currently covered by AETNA but want to terminate coverage, you must complete an enrollment/change request form.
A representative from Aetna International will be on-island Feb. 2-4 to conduct meetings in the Multipurpose Center.
Pacifica Insurance Underwriters is the Resident General Agent for Aetna in the CNMI and will assist during the Open Enrollment period. Enrollment/Change request forms are available at their office and their staff will be available to answer questions and assist members completing the forms. Please submit completed forms no later than 4:30pm March 1, 2016. Enrollments and changes selected during Open Enrollment will take effect Jan. 1, 2016. (PR)
