My dear people of Luta: Wow! So now, one person knows all the facts about Mayor Melchor Mendiola? Hmmm. Okay, let me see. Well yes, fact is, four years ago, our Mayor of Luta, Mayor Melchor Mendiola solicited us to have him acquire office and carry out his best, if not his very best, to guide, to assist our beautiful small island. Fact is, he is just as focused and just as determined to do so. Fact is, he is not “GOD.” Yes I tell you, Mayor Melchor Mendiola is not “GOD.” He did what he could and continues to do what he can.
Mayor Melchor Mendiola alone cannot fix it all; remember he is not God. I quote the African proverb made famous by the former first lady Hillary R. Clinton: “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” So, if you want progress, work with the mayor instead of belittling him. Sure belittling is fair game here, it is “Politics 101” after all, but c’mon now, do not just sit on your hinny and expect wonders to fall from the great beyond! The economy had and has been in deterioration, so enough with the “blame game” or the “pointing of fingers” and first look up what is the budget given for Luta. The mayor is given a budget by the central government to work with and he can only do so much with it. However much he wishes and wants to hire the entire population of the island, what is is. Again, the mayor can only do so much!

Fact is, why is it that we hold animosity and only criticize and or denounce how atrocious the mayor, the senator, the representative and so forth is during referendum time? Oh, I know. We just want to denigrate them. Fact is, why didn’t anyone consider disparaging the mayor if he is legitimately not doing his position that was selected for him? No grounds, right? Because he is trying! Fact is, every politician, be it a rookie or a career politician, they all retain one way or another in their platform such sayings as “focused and determined to help stabilize the livelihood” down to a tee. It is a winning platform just as “Revive Rota” was! And, I ask what has been revived? Exactly. So, yes, Mayor Melchor Mendiola wants a second term, a second stay to promote, to do his best to help revamp some, if not all, of Luta! To all who think lightly, please get your head out of the gutter and get real. Luta is not alone in this “poverty level.” It is global. Read and or watch the news for yourself. The economy all around is not doing so amazing.
