GES info for students, parents
Garapan Elementary School would like to inform our students and families of important information regarding school year 2017-2018.
■ Registration: Ensure that you have submitted the registration form that was sent out prior to the end of school year 2016-2017 as well as your child’s updated documents (school entrance health certificate and updated health insurance).
If we did not receive these documents, your child’s name will not appear on the new roster until they are submitted. You can call the main office at 664-3951 to verify that your child’s registration documents are complete.
If your child will not be returning to GES, parents/legal guardians must come in and complete the withdrawal/transfer out form.
■ School supply list: The basic school supply lists for Kindergarten to 5th grade have been sent to National Office Supply and Modern Stationary. Ensure to request for the list from GES. The supply list is also available for pick up at the GES main office. Please note that this is only the basic school supply list. Your child may receive an additional list from his/her teacher on the first week of school.
■ Free school meal application: The free meal application is available at the GES main office. Each year, families and households must complete a new application to avail of free school meals. Students who were free last school year must reapply. The grace period for free students is 30 days after school year 2017-2018 begins.
To avoid delays in free meal services due to application processing, the PSS Child Nutrition Program should receive all forms and supporting documents on or before Sept. 15, 2017. One application per family.
For any questions or inquires, communicate with the PSS Child Nutrition Program at 664-3901/3902 or the GES main office at 664-3951.
■ Bus forms: Properly complete the new bus form to avail of bus services. Forms can be picked up at the GES main office. For any questions or support, you may call the Office of Pupil Transportation at 322-9457.
■ Open House/PTSA meeting: GES has scheduled the new school year Open House for Thursday, Aug. 17, beginning at 5:30pm, with PTSA meeting in the cafeteria.
Parents or legal guardians are highly encouraged to attend the Open House and begin the communication and foundation for partnership throughout the school year. Meet your school family and be informed of the expectations and vice versa.
■ First day of classes: Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, is the first day of school. School begins at 7:40am and student dismissal is at 2:40pm. (PR)
