MÅNGILAO—Guam Community College is calling all students, former students, alumni and employees to join the GCC Mascot search contest. Submissions will be accepted from April 27 through May 27.

The winning mascot will unify and embody the GCC school spirit and serve as a public symbol of GCC’s continuing effort to equip our students with skills to achieve their life and career goals. The mascot will be aligned with GCC’s current brand, helping define and identify our institution for both internal and external communities.

A Mascot Design Committee has been established and has defined the college’s brand personality as prestigious, original, classic, striving for excellence, honoring our heritage, strength, power, friendly but fierce. The winning mascot design must reflect this personality and incorporate the College’s school colors of aqua blue and white.

GCC has not had a mascot since the Tradesman, more than three decades ago.

A panel of judges will provide its recommendation of the top three finalists who will move on to the final selection round by June 1. The Mascot Design Committee will then select the winning entry that will be unveiled during the first week of July 2022.

The winner will also receive a monetary prize of $500 and the first official print of the GCC Mascot. For more information on the contest www.guamcc.edu/gccmascot or email gcc.mascot@guamcc.edu. (PR)
