GCA notches first win in middle school v-ball
Grace Christian Academy made it to the win column of the middle school division of the 2015-2016 Coalition of Private Schools Sports Association Volleyball League after sweeping Saipan Community School-2 yesterday at the Eagles home court in Navy Hill.

GCA secured the win early after prevailing in the first two sets, 25-17, 25-3. The Eagles and SCS Tsunamis played the third set with the former still dominating the latter, 15-2, to improve to a 1-1 record. GCA, incidentally, absorbed its first loss in the season to SCS 1 last Oct. 21.
The Eagles are coached by Cesar Libut and have 15 players on their roster. The list is composed of Clerrise Dacumos, Karina Dilse, Sebastian Camacho, Duane Torres, Sejin Kim, Anna Nunes, Wang Guanqiao, Eun Syu Hahn, Jerielle Francisco, Eunho Si, Leila Arroyo, Claimre Marzan, Calia Lieto, Joshua Pajarilla, and Andy Kim.
Meanwhile, three other middle school matches were played yesterday, but results were unavailable at press time.
Seventh Day Adventist was slated to duel Saipan International School 3 at the SDA court in Chalan Kiya, while sister teams SIS 1 and 2 collided at the Geckos turf in As Lito. The other middle school pairing had Whispering Palms hosting Agape Christian School.
In the girls high school division, Mt. Carmel School 1 and SIS 2 squared off at the Knights court in Chalan Kanoa, while MCS 2 faced the Lady Eagles in the second match. In the boys division, it was an all-Geckos affair with SIS 1 battling SIS 2.
Action in the girls high school division will continue today with SIS 1 taking on SIS 2 and the former also playing in the second game against Agape. In the middle school division, SIS 3 plays host to Mt. Carmel.
