Gatmaitan and Pinangay have previously placed second or were given the boot in the early rounds of the double elimination events.
Gatmaitan, last Sept. 23, was a runner-up to Jun “Shocker” Santos but this time was on target and did not give his opponents any room to oust him. He scored wins over Rolly Bermiso, June Nunez, and Rey Cepeda, before sending Jeff Barit to the loser’s bracket to earn the first finals berth.

Barit, who won the tournament for the second time last week, had to dispatch Nunez in the loser’s bracket for him to get a second shot against Gatmaitan. He also defeated Patrick Taitano, K.J. Villagomez, Claro Bicol, and Erwin Clavecillas before losing to eventual champion Gatmaitan.
Gatmaitan won $110 cash and a trophy, while Barit settled for $70 and a shirt.
Mike Dela Cruz, Pete Togawa, Steve Igisaiar, Mel Aldan, Boom Cruz, Paul Quizon, Stanley Aldan, Richard Santos, Claro Bicol, Carter Calma, and Leo Wania were the other players that participated in the darts tournament.
In billiards, Pinangay, who was a runner-up to Nolan Cultura last week, had a flawless performance since the first round up to the finals. He scored wins over Rey Hermogenes, Cultura, John Reyes, and Jerry Soriano in the elims then dispatched Boyet Sequioco in the title match.
Sequioco, on the other hand, ousted Senen Pangilinan, Joey Lucido, Reyes, and Ray Matsunaga before eliminating Soriano to arrange a rematch with Pinangay.
Pinangay, however, won’t be denied of the title this time and went home with $80 and a trophy, while Sequioco settled for $40 and a shirt. Soriano earned $20 for placing third after that loss to Sequioco in the semifinals of the loser’s bracket.
