After months of preparation and hard work, the 2016 CNMI Liberation Day Festivities is officially underway.
Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang, Skywalker Communications Group president Dr. Bo Hu, Liberation Day Non-Profit president Louis Rodgers, 2016 Liberation Day Committee chair Chris Leon Guerrero, Rev. Fr. Ryan Jimenez, 2015 Miss CNMI Liberation Queen Zolenska Marie Rios Yaroitemal and her Royal Court, and Lady Dianne Torres officially opened the festival grounds with the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon.
With the experience gained from organizing and participating in last year’s CNMI Liberation Day Festivities, Skywalker Communications Group was even more determined to bring something new for this year. “We wanted to provide more for the kids to enjoy, “ explained Rose Ada-Hocog, public relations manager for Skywalker Communications Group, said “We believe that a family event should be an event that has something for both parents and children to enjoy.”
Skywalker Communications unveiled a total of 11 game booths that featured games such as Angry Bird, Balloon Darts, Turtle Ring Toss, Archery, among others and they immediately became instant hits.
“The excitement on the children’s faces when they arrived on the grounds and saw the games was priceless,” said Levonne Pangelinan, head of the games and volunteers committee. “We have kids, young adults, and adults lining up to play the games.
“We have parents helping their little ones play the games. It may be unsaid, but it is seen how they are bonding through the games and that in itself is enough to say that it is a successful event,” she added.
