Shirley’s A and IT&E Awesome strengthened their bids for the women’s title after recording separate wins on Tuesday night at the TSL Sports Complex. Shirley’s A played in the first women’s game and clobbered Kulet’s Team, 9-1, while IT&E Awesome saw action in the nightcap and topped Shirley’s B, 7-1.

Only one win separates the Top 2 teams with Shirley’s A holding an 11-2-0 win-loss-draw record and IT&E Awesome having a 10-2-1 card. Shirley’s A plays sister team Shirley’s B on Monday and a win will ensure the former the women’s championship. IT&E Awesome’s last game will be against Red Team, also on Monday. If Shirley’s A loses and IT&E Awesome wins, there would be a tie for first place and the deadlock will be resolved via the total goals scored in the two round-robin league.

IT&E Awesome foiled an all-Shirley teams duel for the women’s crown after limiting Shirley’s B to one goal. Alexa Vargas scored Shirley’s B’s lone goal in the second half.

Connie Camacho had four goals for IT&E Awesome, while Michelle Masga and Carrie Schuler added two and one, respectively.

Shirley’s A was also unstoppable on offense in its game against Kulet’s Team with Irish Pagarao leading the attack with five goals. Jeraldine Castillo had a hat-trick, while Angie Ito contributed one goal. Corina Suda lit up the scoreboard for Kulet’s Team in the second half.

Mellow Yellow improved to a 3-9-1 record with only one game left in its schedule, while Korean Futsal has one more game left, but is stuck at 6-5-2 slate.
