FSM temporarily puts off withdrawal from PIR

PALIKIR, Pohnpei—On Feb. 11, 2022, the Micronesian Presidents Summit convened virtually. The leaders, including David W. Panuelo, president of the Federated States of Micronesia, having discussed specific substantive reforms of the Pacific Island Forum and its leadership, and on the basis of consensus, have agreed to temporarily rescind their withdrawal from the Pacific Islands Forum, so as to materialize these reforms offered to the MPS by no later than June 2022.
