Run Saipan president Edward Dela Cruz Jr. said that he is personally  overseeing and helping the library with their fun run.

“I pledged last year after their initial 5K they will always have my support. The difference with this year’s 5K is that it’s not a sanctioned race. It wasn’t on our calendar this year as a competitive run. It’s really a community fun run and all proceeds are going to support the friends of the library and their summer program for 2023 for children.”

Other races Dela Cruz is assisting with are the upcoming CHCC’s CGC Mental Health Awareness 5K and the Marianas Visitors Authority’s Tourism 5K in May.

“Seeing how in demand organizations are now for partnership with Run Saipan to run their 5Ks, organizations need to put in their request for the upcoming year for our board to vote on. This is in the event organizations wish to partner with us and use the full force of our organization to organize and deploy a full[y] sanctioned road race with all the stops such as timing system, fully trained and equipped Run Saipan race staff, T-shirts, medals, etc.”
