Interested groups have until Friday to submit their application and $100 entry fee for the 2016 4th of July Liberation Day parade float competition. Float entries must show this year’s “Our Islands, Our Heritage” theme.

A total of $10,000 in cash prizes will be at stake in the float competition. First, second, third, and fourth places will be receiving $4,000, $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 each.

With the Liberation Day parade less than three weeks away, the Saipan Mayor’s Office and partner Skywalker Communications Group are expecting all of those participating would show their best to delight and entertain the crowd.

They are also expecting to have more entries this year—be it in competition or non-competition—as they invited all interested community members, businesses, government agencies, and non-profit organizations

Application forms can be submitted and picked up at the Saipan Mayor’s Office at the 2nd Floor, Ladera Center Beach Road, Chalan Laulau from 7:30am to 4:30pm. The forms are also available on www.saipanmayor.net.

Saipan Mayor David M. Apatang, Skywalker Communications president Dr. Bo Hu, parade sub committee chair Joseph Palacios, and the entire Liberation Day committee are looking forward to see the various cultural groups that would be represented in the parade.

Also this year, the CNMI Liberation Day Royal Court has a record 26 candidates vying for the crown.
