Northern Marianas College is reminding students and members of the community about NMC’s upcoming “Cash for College” workshop on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017.

In addition to receiving help in finding money for college, workshop participants can also have their financial aid documents notarized and photocopied without charge.

The free workshop on Saipan will be held in Building A at the NMC As Terlaje campus. It will be an ongoing session, so participants can stop by anytime between 9am and 12pm.

Participants will be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing especially on forms for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, CNMI Scholarship, Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance, and other scholarship programs.

Staff members from the college’s Office of Admissions and Records will also be present to provide information and assistance with the NMC admission application process.

In addition, those who participate in the workshop will qualify to have their NMC application fee and placement test fees waived for the spring 2018 semester. This waiver represents a savings of up to $75.

Although not required, it is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification (e.g., a valid U.S. passport, copy of valid application for a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or green card), an official transcript from high school (at least three official copies), copy of 2015 1040, copy of 2015 W-2 (if not filing), and proof of CNMI residency, including proof of continuing residency. Applicants for SHEFA should bring a valid U.S. passport or a voter registration card.
