Free notary and copying services at Cash for College
Participants of the upcoming Cash for College workshops on Saipan will have access to notary and copying services. For more information about the workshops visit www.marianas.edu. (BNMC)
Northern Marianas College is reminding students and members of the community about NMC’s upcoming Cash for College workshops Rota, Saipan, and Tinian. In addition to receiving help in finding money for college, workshop participants can also have their financial aid documents notarized and photocopied without charge.
The Cash for College workshops will be held on Rota, Saipan, and Tinian on the following dates:
Jan. 24 & 25: Rota NMC campus, from 10am to 4pm on Jan/ 24 and 8am to 12pm on Jan. 25.
Jan. 26: Saipan, Buildings N and O, NMC As Terlaje campus, from 9am to 12pm.
Feb. 12: Tinian NMC Campus Library, from 10:30am to 2:30pm.
At the workshop participants will be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing especially on forms like the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and application forms for the CNMI Scholarship, Saipan Higher Education Financial Assistance (SHEFA), and other municipal scholarship programs.
Staff members from the college’s Office of Admissions and Records will also be present to provide information and assistance with the NMC admission application process.
Additionally, those who participate in the workshop will qualify to have their NMC application fee and placement test fees waived for the upcoming Fall 2018 semester. This waiver represents a savings of up to $75.
In addition, the CNMI Scholarship Office and SHEFA program extended their application deadlines for Northern Marianas College students.
The new deadlines for CNMI Scholarship and SHEFA are:
• CNMI Scholarship Application: March 1, 2019
• CNMI Scholarship Supporting Documents: April 15, 2019
• SHEFA Application Deadline: Feb. 1, 2019
• SHEFA Supporting Documents: April 12, 2019
Although not required, it is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification (e.g., a valid U.S. passport, copy of valid application for a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or green card), an official transcript from high school (at least three official copies), Copy of 2017 and 2018 1040, Copy of 2017 and 2018 W-2 (if not filing), and proof of CNMI residency, including proof of continuing residency.
