In an effort to increase awareness of maintaining good health and disease prevention, the US Pinoys for Good Governance and National Federation of Filipino American Associations-Marianas Chapter (CNMI and Guam), in collaboration with El Shaddai Saipan Chapter, will be holding a free three-hour health screening on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015, from 8am to 11am, at San Antonio Parish Social Hall, San Antonio, Saipan.

Registration starts at 7:30am and will be continuing until 10am.

People who would like to avail of the blood sugar tests are advised to fast—to refrain from eating and drinking liquids preferably 12 hours or at least two hours prior to the actual testing.

Several key vital metrics include blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, height, body mass index, and vision. Knowing where your health stands helps you start realistic personal health goals for the rest of this year and for 2016.

“Free health screening events help members of our community take charge of their health. Further, providing such free services not only signifies volunteerism but is also a gift to our community during this Christmas season,” said Dr. Celia Lamkin, chairperson of USPGG and NaFFAA Marianas Chapter for CNMI and Guam.

Information on disease prevention such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, stroke, heart attack, among others, will be distributed at the health screening site.

The USP4GG Marianas chapter is committed to provide free health screening services to all members of the community regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, citizenship, and religion. (PR)
