In an effort to increase awareness of disease prevention and staying healthy, the US Pinoys for Good Governance Marianas chapter, in collaboration with the San Jose Parish church and Rev. Father Rey Rosal, will be hosting a free health screening on April 20, Easter Sunday, from 7:30am to 11am, at the San Jose Parish Social Hall.

“During this Holy Week, we focus on our spiritual needs. However, we should also think of our physical well-being—a healthy body, a healthy mind,” said Rev. Father Rey Rosal, parish priest of San Jose Church.

“ I am very grateful to the US Pinoys for Good Governance Marianas chapter with the leadership of Dr. Celia Lamkin in hosting this free health screening and in collaborating with me on this very important health awareness campaign so that the parishioners and other members of the community will be more aware and responsible in taking care of their health,” added Rosal.

According to Dr. Celia Lamkin, chairperson of USP4GG Marianas chapter for CNMI and Guam, the free health screening includes blood pressure measurements, blood sugar tests, weight, height, and body mass index determinations. Brochures and pamphlets on disease prevention such as hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, stroke, heart attacks, heart diseases, obesity, among others, will be provided free to the participants.

Those who would like to avail the blood sugar tests should refrain from eating and drinking liquids preferably 12 hours prior or at least 2 hours prior to the actual testing.

The public is invited regardless of ethnicity, religion, citizenship, and nationality. (USP4GG)
